County Equipment Refresh Project Notice

Beginning November 2016, the Texas Department of Motor Vehicles (TxDMV) will begin replacing the Registration and Titling System (RTS) computer equipment located in county offices. Every county office will receive updated RTS hardware, including new workstations and printers. We expect the new RTS equipment installation to continue until the end of June 2017.
TxDMV is working with a third party vendor (Insight) to install approximately 3,000 RTS workstations and printers in over 500 locations across the state and remove the existing RTS workstations while ensuring the secure destruction of the old hard drives.
Counties will be scheduled for equipment replacement on a rolling schedule and will coordinate closely with their TxDMV Regional Service Center manager to facilitate the installation. TxDMV will provide you with more information, including a county packet outlining the equipment refresh process in advance of your scheduled implementation date.
