The attached reports provide title and registration details for fiscal year 2014. I am proud to note we issued 6.2 million titles and registered 23.8 million vehicles, a record for our state. This undertaking would not have been possible without the tax assessor-collectors and other partners. Thank you for your hard work and dedication in 2014.
The title report shows number of titles issued and distribution of titling fees by county. For example, 6,270,026 titles were issued statewide, an increase of 3.75 percent from fiscal year 2013 to fiscal year 2014. Title fees collected totaled $185,492,362 in fiscal year 2014, an impressive increase of 9.92 percent over the prior year.
The registration report shows number of vehicles registered, distribution of associated fees by county, and collections by Texas Department of Motor Vehicles (TxDMV) Regional Service Centers. In fiscal year 2014, 23,886,263 vehicles registered a 2.84 percent increase over fiscal year 2013. Revenue collections increased slightly (less than one percent) to $1,742,731,139.92. TxDMV Regional Service Centers were also busy posting a 7.34 percent revenue increase to $91,465,061.20 in fiscal year 2014.
