Important County Equipment Refresh Announcement

Good afternoon,

On November 23, 2016, the Texas Department of Motor Vehicles (TxDMV) distributed an announcement regarding a list of Keyboard, Video, Mouse (KVM) switches that have been tested for compatibility with the new RTS workstations. The procurement and use of KVM switches is determined by each county on an individual basis and are not supported by TxDMV.

It has come to our attention that some counties may be using a class of KVM switches that will not work with the new RTS workstations. If your office uses a KVM switch that uses PS/2 plugs, you will not be able to connect to the USB connectors found on the new workstations. The plug shown below is an example of a PS/2 plug that will not work with the new workstations.
