We are happy to announce that the County Equipment Refresh Project has successfully completed the pilot deployment of new RTS workstations and printers in Bastrop County, and would like to thank Bastrop County for their participation in this effort.
Based on the successful deployment Texas Department of Motor Vehicles (TxDMV) is moving forward with the effort to replace all county RTS workstations and printers. This effort will begin December 3, 2016 and is expected to be completed by May 27, 2016.
While counties are provided standard workstations and printers, we understand that some counties purchase special equipment called Keyboard, Video, Mouse (KVM) switches that allow users to toggle between a RTS workstation and a county computer. The procurement and use of KVM switches is determined by each county on an individual basis. Please note that KVM switches are not supported by TxDMV.
In an effort to help counties that utilize KVM switches prepare for the new equipment, we would like to provide you with the following list of KVM switches that have been tested for compatibility with the new RTS workstations.
- IOGear 2 port USB KVM model # GCS632U
- IOGear 2 port USB KVM model # GCS22U
- IOGear 2 port USB KVM model # GCS42UW6
While it is possible that KVM switches other than the brand/models listed above may function properly with the new upgraded workstations, TxDMV cannot guarantee that KVM switches outside of the models listed above will be compatible with the new equipment.
If you have any questions or concerns, please contact your TxDMV Regional Service Center.
