On Sunday, April 08, 2018, the Texas Department of Motor Vehicles (TxDMV) will be performing system maintenance that will require a system outage. The duration of the maintenance is scheduled for up to five (5) hours beginning at 5:00 AM Central Time (04/08/2018) lasting until 10:00 AM Central Time. 

Systems Partially Impacted: All systems below will be partially unavailable during the scheduled time frames below:

Sunday (04/08/2018) from 05:00 AM Central Time – 10:00 AM Central Time:

  • MVI-Net
  • RTS POS
  • MyPlates
  • Temp Permits

April 2018 NMVTIS Guide Update

Chapter 5 – Title Brands
Section 5.4, “Reconstructed Brand,” was updated to remove the 49 SALVAGE-STOLEN brand. Unrecovered stolen vehicles are not considered salvage in Texas. Programming was completed with the RTS 8.8.0 release to prevent this brand from being returned as an NMVTIS error.

Chapter 7 – Title Numbers and Issue Date
Section 7.3, “Title Samples and Title Information,” was updated to provide new title information for Mississippi, Virginia, and Washington. This update includes information provided in Registration and Title Bulletin #001-17. 

Chapter 9 – TxDMV Procedures and Guidelines
Section 9.4, “Removal from NMVTIS,” was updated to remove information related to use of the “Export” notation in the Junk and Salvage Information section.

April 2018 Motor Vehicle Title Manual Update

Chapter 10 – Evidence of Ownership
Section 10.2, “Manufacturer’s Certificate of Origin (MCO),” was updated to provide reconciliation between the Registration and Title Manuals on weight certificate requirements for commercial motor vehicles evidenced by an MCO.

Chapter 15 – Odometers
Section 15.5, “Operation of Law Title Transfers,” was updated to provide guidance on the requirement of including the odometer reading when an insurance company files an application for Texas title on an unrecovered stolen vehicle, which is subject to odometer disclosure. 

Chapter 25 – Motor Vehicle Dealers
Section 25.6, “Processing Title Transactions Involving Dealer Bankruptcy,” was updated to provide clarification on processing transactions when a dealership declared bankruptcy prior to transferring the title.

Important eTAG and webDEALER Update

The Texas Department of Motor Vehicles (TxDMV) will move eTAG (the system used for Buyer Tags) into webDEALER (the title application system) on April 9, 2018. After this date, the link below should be used to access webDEALER and/or eTAG

This update will result in a change to the way counties process payments for out of state purchasers’ Buyer Tags. For your convenience, a video outlining the process can be found on the TAC Hub website http://www.txdmv.gov/tax-assessor-collectors.

Additionally, TxDMV provided training webinars for eTAG/webDEALER users (dealers). Important eTAG/webDEALER update (April 9, 2018)

Important eTAG and webDEALER Update

The Texas Department of Motor Vehicles (TxDMV) will move eTAG (the system used for Buyer Tags) into webDEALER (the title application system) on April 9, 2018. After this date, you will need to use the link below to access webDEALER and/or eTAG.

https://webdealer.txdmv.gov/title

webDEALER will become the system to work from for the creation of Buyer Tags (or other types of tags). Note: Your current username and password will not change.

As part of this update, the eTAG system will be unavailable from 9:00 PM, April 6, 2018, until 8:00 AM, April 9, 2018. Please ensure that you have printed your full allotment of internet down tags for use during this time.

We recognize that weekends are a busy time for dealers, but due to technology requirements, must deploy over a weekend.

In preparation for this update, TxDMV provided training webinars for eTAG/webDEALER users. A recording of one of the webinar sessions, along with short videos and other training materials are available at our website www.TxDMV.gov/dealers/etag/resources

On Sunday, March 25, 2018, the Texas Department of Motor Vehicles (TxDMV) will be performing unscheduled system maintenance that will require a system outage. The duration of the maintenance is scheduled for up to 15 minutes beginning at 4:15 PM Central Time (3/25/2018) lasting until 4:30 PM Central Time (3/25/2018).

 

Systems Impacted: All systems below will be unavailable and unable to access vehicle information during the scheduled time frames below:

 

Sunday (3/25/2018) from 4:15 PM to 4:30 PM Central Time:

  • webSUB
  • MyPlates
  • Temp Permits
  • webDEALER
  • eTAG

Systems Not Impacted: All systems below will be available during the scheduled time frames below:

Sunday (3/25/2018) from 4:15 PM to 4:30 PM Central Time: 

  • DPS (Law Enforcement) TLETS
  • MVI-Net
