The Texas Department of Motor Vehicles updated the login security for eTag and webDEALER over the weekend of July 21, 2017. We successfully migrated over 40,000 accounts and the systems were available before 8:00am this morning.
If you already have an active account for eLicensing, you should use the same username and password to access eTag and webDEALER. You should have received a welcome email for eTag if you already had an account in eLICENSING. If you already have an eLicensing account and are unable to login to eTag or webDEALER, please confirm you are able to login to eLicensing. If you are unable to login to eLicensing, please use the “FORGOT PASSWORD” link on the login page and follow the instructions to obtain a new password. Your username and new password should allow you to access eLicensing, eTag, and webDEALER.
If you did not already have an account for eLicensing, you should have recevied three (3) emails from TxDMV containing your username, temporary password, and a welcome message. All users will need to use this information to access the system beginning Monday, July 24, 2017. The attached “New User Login” document shows the steps associated with this process. You may also view a video demonstrating the recent changes on the TxDMV YouTube channel https://youtu.be/Us0un8jWRu8. If you did not receive the emails, please check your ‘spam’ or ‘junk’ folder.
If you have any additional questions or concerns regarding this change, please contact the TxDMV IT Service Desk.
If you would like to speak to a Service Desk representative, please call us at 512-465-4010 or toll free at 1-877-933-2020, option one (1). The Service Desk is available from 7:00 AM to 5:30 PM CDT, Monday through Friday. You may also send email to: ServiceDesk@TxDMV.gov
