Resolved: Refactored RTS: Scan Gun Use with 7-digit plates 9/9/2015

Good Afternoon,

On September 4th, 2015 the Texas Department of Motor Vehicles (TxDMV) released a statement updating the progress of the RTS Refactoring project and outlining the status of high priority issues identified and reported by the counties.

Today (September 9th, 2015) after the close of business, the TxDMV will be updating the RTS Point of Sale application in order to resolve one of the high priority items related to the use of USB Scan Guns. Previously counties reported that the USB scan guns did not read the bar codes for seven (7) character plates. This issue has been resolved. If you continue to experience this problem, please contact the Service Desk.
