Please review and distribute as appropriate.
The Vehicle Titles and Registration Division has undertaken an initiative to review, revise, and consolidate more than 60 title-related forms. These updated forms will be made available for your use over the course of the next few months with the exception of some secure forms that will be released once our existing stock is exhausted.
We strongly encourage using the revised forms as soon as possible. However, prior versions of forms remain acceptable for use unless specifically stated otherwise.
If revisions to forms result in changes to policies or procedures, the Texas Department of Motor Vehicles (TxDMV) will communicate these changes through a Registration and Title Bulletin. Non-secure forms with aesthetic changes or other non-substantive changes are scheduled for release in September 2016. These forms will not be accompanied by a Registration and Title Bulletin since the intended use of the forms is not changing. We will issue a notification when they are available. The TxDMV will also issue a subsequent notification when the existing stock of secure forms is exhausted, and new versions are available. We anticipate this will be in late 2016 or early 2017.
To ensure you and other stakeholders impacted by these revisions are informed of these and future form revisions, please subscribe to the TxDMV GovDelivery “Form Updates” email announcement list. To subscribe, click the GovDelivery icon at the bottom of www.TxDMV.gov webpage, or go to www.TxDMV.gov/subscribe. Check the box beside “Form Updates” to receive the latest notifications for form-related updates.
