RTS Deployment Announcement 12/21/2015

Good morning,

 

After close of business Friday, December 11 and 18, 2015, the Texas Department of Motor Vehicles (TxDMV) updated the RTS Point of Sale (POS) application and Cognos enterprise reporting tool in order to address priority issues reported by counties users. When you begin using Cognos on Monday, December 21, 2015, you should notice that the items below have been resolved.

 

The TxDMV will continue to evaluate all reported issues with the RTS POS application and the Cognos reporting tool. As other critical items are identified they will be addressed as soon as the programming can be completed. Other items that are not determined to be critical will be scheduled for inclusion in the regular release schedule.

Issue Description / Resolution

RRTS -2211

 

County users reported that after receiving a ‘secured environment breach detected’ error message, the county remittance was cancelled.

The POS application has been updated to address this issue.

 

RRTS – 2158

 

County users were unable to verify inspections and collection fees for expired registrations, standard exempt registrations, and so on using the Status Change > Inspection Status event.

This issue has been addressed. County users can now verify inspections and collection fees using the Status Change > Inspection Status event.

 

RRTS -2368

 

County users reported that they are unable to save a report view of Cognos reports in a format that allows the user to edit report prompts (e.g. report date).

Cognos has been updated to allow users to edit prompt information after saving a report view. Users should continue to utilize the same steps to save a report view. However, to change report prompts when accessing a report view, they will need to select the Run with options button  to open the report. For a refresher on how to access a report view using the Run with options functionality, please reference the Training Guide for Working with Cognos Reports (pages 12 and 13) on the TAC Hub http://txdmv.gov/rts-refactoring-resources or via the RTS Refactoring Resources icon on the desktop of any RTS workstation .
