RTS Printers: How to set the Sleep delay 8/24/2015

Good morning,

Do you have printers that are going into Sleep mode too quickly?  Do you and your customers spend time waiting for your printer to warm up?  If so you may consider changing the Sleep mode delay.  What is the Sleep delay?  It’s the amount of time before your printer goes into a power saving mode, and the default setting is 30 minutes. You may also notice the printer LCD display dims when it is in sleep mode.

Why change the sleep setting?

If you extend the sleep time or turn it off entirely you may see improvements in the overall time it takes to print documents, especially for the first transaction of the day.  You may also see improvements after a delay in between customers.

Please follow the steps below on your printer to either modify the delay or turn it off entirely.

  2. Open each of the following menus. Press the down arrow to highlight it and then press the OK button to select it.

  3. Press the up or down arrow to select the appropriate time period, and then press the OK button.
