Texas International Registration Plan (TxIRP) offers payment by credit card
Effective Sept. 1, 2015, the Texas International Registration Plan (TxIRP) online system will have the ability to accept payment by credit card through the Texas.gov system. State law requires any state agency that accepts credit card payments to use Texas.gov as their credit card merchant provider.
If you choose to pay your registration fees by credit card please be aware that you will incur the additional charges below:
- Texas.gov will add a fee of 2.25 percent plus 25 cents to cover Texas.gov processing costs and credit card company fees.
TxIRP will continue to accept payment by ACH (Automated Clearing House), or electronic check. ACH processing is also handled through Texas.gov. and a $1 flat fee applies.
TxIRP customers also may pay by cashier’s check, check, or cash at any of the TxDMV’s Regional Service Centers.
