The Texas Department of Insurance (TDI) has asked the Texas Department of Motor Vehicles to provide you with this notice concerning the following stakeholder meeting.
TDI is the lead state agency that runs the TexasSure program, and they are holding a stakeholder meeting to solicit feedback on the program on Monday, March 17, 2014, at 2:00 p.m. The meeting will be held in the Hobby Building, Room 100, at 333 Guadalupe in Austin, Texas.
TexasSure is the state’s vehicle insurance verification program used by law enforcement and county tax assessor-collector’s offices to verify whether a vehicle registered in Texas has personal liability insurance coverage. The following initiatives will be discussed in the stakeholder meeting:
* uninsured population research,
* low-cost automobile insurance program,
* emerging technology,
* TexasSure notices – elimination or alternatives,
* consumer and public outreach,
* fines, fees, and revocations,
* commercial auto policies, and
* statutory or rule changes.
