On May 6, we announced the approval of the 100,000th webDEALER transaction. Through June, total approved transactions doubled, surpassing the 200,000 mark. County-approved transactions reached 59,447 for the month, and total county-approved transactions reached nearly 215,000.
The continued increase is due to counties and dealerships taking advantage of the seamless title application process webDEALER offers. The convenient online processing allows title applications to be submitted at any time, ensures fees are accurately calculated, and even simplifies specialty plate transfers by providing fee information in the system.
Last month, two additional counties and 44 dealers actively used the system (47 counties and 383 dealerships total), and 17 percent of all dealer title applications were submitted to the county utilizing the webDEALER application. Harris County topped the list of active users with 17,558 approved title applications in June and 54,682 since the application was implemented (35,341 new and 19,341 used vehicle transactions).
Sign-up information and a list of counties using webDEALER are available on the Dealers page at www.txdmv.gov/dealers. A list of dealerships using webDEALER can be found on the Tax Assessor-Collectors (TAC hub) page under the “Take Note” tab.
The Texas Department of Motor Vehicles (TxDMV) webDEALER team continues to make system improvements to better serve dealers and county tax assessor-collectors. We are committed to ensuring the system provides value to our stakeholders and always welcome your feedback. Through dialogue, we are able to continually improve our programs and services.
