Overview of Single Sticker (Phase 2) for County Tax Offices

The next phase of the Single Sticker Program, “Two Steps, One Sticker,” requiring verification of vehicle inspection prior to registration or renewal, begins in March 2016.  As part of the changes for Phase 2 of the program, statutory timeframes will be enforced for customers renewing on or after March 1, 2016.

Under this program, the Registration and Title System, webSUB, webDEALER, and online renewal via IVTRS will electronically verify that a vehicle has a passing inspection within the appropriate timeframe before registration or renewal.  To help you prepare, the following webinars are scheduled to provide a high level overview of the year two changes and provide an opportunity for questions.

For tax assessor-collectors and deputies, continuing education credit may be considered for your participation in certain Texas Department of Motor Vehicles (TxDMV) hosted webinars.  A submission form has been created for you to log your information on the TxDMV website at www.TxDMV.gov on the TAC hub under the “TAC Toolbox” section.
