Prevention of Farm Registration Renewal in WebSub

Registration and Title Bulletin (RTB) #033-13 provided information regarding eligibility of farm license plates. In the RTB, it stated effective September 1, 2013, renewal of existing farm license plates for farm motor vehicles, trailers, and semitrailers requires the applicant to present proof of a Texas Agricultural or Timber Exemption Registration Number issued by the Texas Comptroller of Public Accounts.

With this change in law, WebSub has now been programmed to prevent registration renewal for these vehicles and requires the renewal to be processed at the county through the Registration and Title System (RTS).

For all county and remittance locations in WebSub, if a renewal for these vehicles is attempted, error message 5052 – Renewal requires agricultural or timber permit verification, process in RTS will display.

For subcontractor locations in WebSub, error message 2370 – Please refer your customer to their local county tax office will display.

This change will be effective Thursday, July 24, 2014.
