Yesterday, TxDMV became aware of an ongoing issue with Texas.Gov and Texas NIC payment processing systems which lead to some customers experiencing issues on payment screens while processing online renewals (through TXT, IVTRS, Temp Permits). The payment processing issues also impacted several State Agencies and their customers.
Further investigation revealed that yesterday’s observed payment processing systems issues derived from a reported global outage by Fiserv, Inc., a global payment systems processor to the financial community. Fiserv took corrective action, reporting service restoration for most of their global customers by late yesterday.
Update @ 4:55 PM, 10/4/2022:
TxDMV, working alongside Texas.Gov and Texas NIC, continued monitoring payment systems yesterday, and through the course of the day today, while Fiserv continued monitoring their customer systems on a broader scale.
Since we have observed no further payment systems issues today, we can now confirm the payment systems issues are fully resolved. TxDMV customers should no longer experience any issues while processing online payment system transactions at this time.
