TxDMV publishes rule proposals in the December 29, 2023, issue of the Texas Register.

The Texas Department of Motor Vehicles (TxDMV) has proposed rules in the December 29, 2023, issue of the Texas Register. A summary of the proposed rules and the proposed language is available on TxDMV’s website at https://www.txdmv.gov/general-counsel/proposed-and-adopted-rules.

The proposals are published in the December 29, 2023, issue of the Texas Register and are posted for public comment until 5:00 p.m. on January 28, 2024.

The proposals include:

  • amendments to 43 Texas Administrative Code (TAC) Chapter 206, concerning cleanup;
  • amendments to 43 TAC Chapter 215, concerning SB 422, fingerprinting, legislative implementation, and cleanup;
  • amendments to 43 TAC Chapter 221, concerning SB 422, fingerprinting, and cleanup;
  • amendments to 43 TAC §217.56, concerning cleanup;
  • amendments to 43 TAC Chapter 218, concerning HB 2190 and cleanup;
  • amendments to 43 TAC Chapter 219, concerning cleanup;
  • amendments to 43 TAC §217.63, concerning digital license plates; and
  • new 43 TAC Chapter 224, concerning adjudicative practice and procedures, including contested cases.
