On Saturday, June 28, 2025, the Texas Department of Motor Vehicles (TxDMV) will update
the eLICENSING System with Release 25.3 which contains the content summarized below.
eLICENSING Business Reported Issues:
Motor Vehicles Division
• Addition of new Amendment Reason for GDN License – Change Salvage Designation
• Question & Attachment regarding Secure Storage for License Plates
• Add Catalytic Converter Repair Field
• Blue Plates – Renewal-Add new Metal Temp Plates/Blue Plates to the eLICENSING
application processes
• Add Salvage Designation to GDN Printed License
• Allow Dealer to submit a Plate Request for Standard Plates with APA Expired Status.
• Separate Packing Slips Needed for a combined order of both Standard and Temp
Plates
• Rebrand eTAGs to ePLATEs for External Applications
• Salvage End Date Indicator on GDN License Record
• Update static text on Plate Application
