Clarification on Ordering Standard Dealer and Dealer Temporary Plates

The Texas Department of Motor Vehicles (TxDMV) continues to implement new features and performance improvements for plate distribution.

Please note that the following license plates are distributed by the Motor Vehicle Division (MVD) and must be ordered via your eLICENSING account:

• Standard Dealer Plates; and

•        Dealer Temporary Plates.

The TxDMV’s Plate Inventory Management System (IMS) is incorrectly displaying Dealer Plates as available for order via that platform. This is an error, and TxDMV is working to correct it.
