Good afternoon,
Over the weekend of January 18, 2025, the Texas Department of Motor Vehicles
(TxDMV) updated the Registration and Titling System (RTS) with Release 25.1.1
which contains the content summarized below.
Enhancements:
• HB 3297 Commercial vehicle inspection types: CWE0, CWE2, and CWE3
are valid test types if found in the inspection database which will be
applicable to both commercial and non-commercial vehicles.
• HB 3297 Selection of the commercial vehicle inspection types: CW and
CDEC will be available for non-commercial vehicles who obtain a
commercial vehicles inspection.
• IVTRS will display a different hard stop message when user selects
“None of These Apply” on the Affidavit Exempt Reason screen.
• HB 3297 Vehicles 1996 or newer with less than 50,000 miles are
exempt from emissions inspection.
• HB 3297 Updated emissions logic for Dealer GDN Title Transfers
Transactions.
• HB 3297 Farm Trucks less than 48,000 lbs. will not be considered as
commercial vehicles and are exempt from commercial inspection
requirements.
• HB 3297 Adding the new “ECI – Exempt from Commercial Insp” selection
on the INS001 screen for commercial vehicles who are exempt from
Commercial Inspection Requirements.
