On Saturday, August 23, 2025, the Texas Department of Motor Vehicles (TxDMV) will update
the eLICENSING System with Release 25.4 which contains the content summarized below:
eLICENSING Business Reported Issues:
• Need to make the number of vehicles sold data field “read only” in a plate app and
renewal application
• Change GDN type to retail or wholesale Amendment: Plates with Cancel option Needs
to be Updated to “Cancelled”
• APA Expired plate dates- Seems the code used to calculate the future expiration date
does not consider leap year
• HB718: Motorcycle standard plate app requiring number of vehicles sold when the
requested number of plates is less than the plate limit
• Wholesale GDN requested more than the maximum number of plates did not have
a hard stop
• Wholesale GDN Renewal App has wrong error message when more plates requested
is allowed
