RESOLVED: Temporary Issue with 30-Day Permit/Plate Printing – Action Required (07/03/2025 @ 11:58 AM)

Good morning,

We are aware of the printer and sticker paper receipt issue affecting 30-day permit/plates
and are actively working on a solution. Sticker paper receipts are not printing from
the proper print tray, and the VOID is missing from the windshield sticker.

In the meantime, until a fix is deployed to production, please use the following workaround:

What Counties Need to Do:

  • Load the sticker paper to Tray 2 before completing a transaction.
  • Before providing the customer the sticker paper receipt, peel off and dispose of the
windshield sticker OR mark the windshield sticker with an “X” or “VOID” notation.

Update 07/03/2025 @ 11:58 AM:  RESOLVED for Counties. Not resolved for RSCs.

Follow-up to the initial issue bulletin, previously published on 07/01/2025:

The printer and sticker paper receipt issue has been resolved for Counties, but not RSCs
Counties no longer need
to follow the workaround procedure described above.

We are actively working on a solution for the RSCs.  An update will be provided to the
RSCs once the issue is resolved.

We apologize for the inconvenience and any impact on you or your customers.

Thank you,

Texas Department of Motor Vehicles
IT Services Division
