The Texas Department of Motor Vehicles (TxDMV) is looking for individuals interested in serving as members on the new Automated Vehicle Regulation Advisory Committee, which was created by the TxDMV Board on February 12, 2026. Advisory committees provide recommendations to the TxDMV Board and Executive Director on rules and policy issues related to department operations.
The Automated Vehicle Regulation Advisory Committee will discuss and make recommendations to the TxDMV Board on topics related to the regulation of automated motor vehicles, including administrative enforcement activities to ensure public safety.

Texans wishing to apply for a seat representing either the automated vehicle industry or the public can complete an application and indicate their interest in serving on the Automated Vehicle Regulation Advisory Committee.
