Update Notification: RTS Unavailable (07/21/2024 @ 3:25 PM)

Good afternoon,

The Texas Department of Motor Vehicles and our technology vendors have restored all servers supporting department applications following the global technology systems outage on Friday. This restoration includes RTS. Workstations impacted by the global technology systems outage must also be individually restored in each county in order to fully resume providing registration and title services. Department staff partnered with TACA leadership over the past several days to develop and test a step-by-step user guide instructing county offices on how to restore TxDMV issued workstations. This user guide is included in this communication and can be used by county offices immediately. The process for restoring a workstation typically takes only a few minutes per computer. Once restored the workstation should be fully functional.

Counties experiencing difficulty restoring their workstations using the guide should contact their respective Regional Service Center (RSC) managers for additional assistance. Your RSC manager can assist you with troubleshooting or escalate an issue to department technical resources if they are unable to assist.

Thank you for your patience as we work to restore full registration and titling services throughout the state.

Thank you,
Texas Department of Motor Vehicles
IT Services Division
