Central Freight Lines Closure

Please review and distribute as appropriate.

Central Freight Lines is permanently closing operations, which affects the delivery of certain orders shipped from Huntsville.  County orders weighing over a certain amount were previously shipped with Central Freight Lines.  As a result of this closure, the Texas Department of Motor Vehicles (TxDMV) anticipates delays in deliveries of license plates, toner, receipt paper, etc. submitted after December 9, 2021, that exceed the weight threshold.  Smaller orders and all placards will continue to be shipped via FedEx and are not impacted.

Central Freight Lines will continue to deliver shipments already in their system.  Expect scheduled deliveries until all orders are delivered.  Please continue to submit orders as you normally would and inquire with your Regional Service Center should you have questions about the status of an order.

Additional information on changes to the delivery service provider will be provided soon.

Thank you,

Roland D. Luna, Sr., Director
Vehicle Titles and Registration Division
Texas Department of Motor Vehicles
