On August 1, 2024, the Texas Department of Motor Vehicles will implement changes within the Texas Permitting and Routing Optimization System (TxPROS) so that the permit names are consistent with Texas Transportation Code, Chapter 623, and recent changes to 43 Texas Administrative Code, Chapter 219. The term “crane” has been replaced with “unladen lift equipment motor vehicle” and the spelling of “fracing” has been changed to “fracking”. The permit type “super heavy” will now be one word, “superheavy”. The permit name changes to the Permit Type drop down selection in TxPROS are listed below:
The load descriptions and printed names on the permits will also have these name changes. For assistance or questions regarding these changes, please contact the TxDMV Permit Office at 1-800-299-1700, option 2.

maintenance for the webDealer System starting at 5:00 AM, Sunday (07/28/2024),
lasting up to 11:00 AM Sunday morning.
As a reminder, if you are unable to print buyer’s tags, you should use your pre-printed Internet Down tags.
Every dealer is allowed a minimum of 30 Internet Down tags. Please remember that after using an Internet
Down tag, you must enter the information for that tag into webDealer as soon as the system is accessible.
Doing this, will ensure you always have the full allocation of unused Internet Down tags available when you
need them. Internet Down tags are valid for one year from the date they are printed.
Note: A notification update will be published once the webDealer maintenance is completed.

Update: RTS Batch Reports are delayed (07/22/2024 12:05 PM)
Good morning,
The TxDMV RTS Batch reports are still processing at this time, including transactions and
reporting. Support staff are aware and monitoring the delayed batch run. For this reason,
the Cognos Active Registration Cube, used for access to self-service reporting needs,

Good morning,
The Texas Department of Motor Vehicles and our technology vendors have
restored all servers supporting department applications following the global
technology systems outage on Friday. This restoration includes RTS. Workstations
impacted by the global technology systems outage must also be individually
restored in each county in order to fully resume providing registration and title
services. Department staff partnered with TACA leadership over the past several
days to develop and test a step-by-step user guide instructing county offices on
how to restore TxDMV issued workstations. This user guide is included in this
communication and can be used by county offices immediately. The process for
restoring a workstation typically takes only a few minutes per computer. Once
restored the workstation should be fully functional.
To maximize department efforts in supporting all counties, we request each county
notify their respective Regional Service Center (RSC) managers when they have
restored all workstations in their county. Counties experiencing difficulty restoring
their workstations using the guide should report all issues to their respective RSC
managers for additional assistance. Your RSC manager can assist you with
troubleshooting or escalate an issue to department technical resources if they are
unable to assist.

RTS Operations have been restored but access to county tax accessor offices remains
dependent on the restoration of county workstations. Department staff is finalizing help
guide materials and plans to directly assist counties bring their workstations back to
full operation. We will begin distributing this information directly to counties by Monday.
