Good afternoon,

Over the weekend of March 19, 2021, the Texas Department of Motor Vehicles (TxDMV) will update the Registration and Titling System (RTS) and webDEALER System. During the deployment of the new release you may experience intermittent connectivity issues to the following applications:

Starting at 6:00 PM Saturday (03/20/2021) through 6:00 PM Sunday (3/21/2021):

  • RTS POS
  • Cognos
  • webDEALER

Note: A reply to all will be sent out when maintenance has been completed. Please contact the TxDMV Customer Service department if you experience issues after the maintenance has been completed.

The Texas Department of Motor Vehicles (TxDMV) will update the webDEALER system with Release 10.0.0 on Saturday, March 20, 2021 starting at 6:00 PM until Sunday, March 21, 2021 at 6:00 PM. During the deployment of the 10.0.0 Release you may experience intermittent connectivity issues.

 

As a reminder, if you are unable to print buyer’s tags, you should use your pre-printed Internet Down tags.  Every dealer is allowed a minimum of 30 Internet Down tags. Please remember that after using an Internet Down tag, you must enter the information for that tag into webDEALER as soon as the system is accessible.  Doing this, will ensure you always have the full allocation of unused Internet Down tags available when you need them. Internet Down tags are valid for one year from the date they are printed.

Some records that were submitted on Thursday, March 4th have the Previous Owner Name as “STEPHEN BANDA AUTOMALL’.  These can be viewed under Documents on the title preview 

There are two ways to correct this.

  1. Web Dealer Titles that have not been approved need to:

A County user needs to return the transaction to the Dealer.

Have the Dealer edit the “Evidence of Ownership and Supporting Documents” in the Title Preview for the Title application.

  • Remove the document(s) from the “Evidence of Ownership and Supporting Documents” page.
  • Re save the Evidence of Ownership and re-upload the Documents.  Return to the Title Preview.
  • Calculate fees and resubmit the Title application to County to review.
  1. Web Dealer Title transactions that have been approved and should be in the void window.

A County user needs to void the approved Web Dealer Title Transaction in Web Dealer or RTS-POS.

  • When voiding the approved transaction return it to the Dealer.

Have the Dealer edit the “Evidence of Ownership and Supporting Documents” in the Title Preview for the Title application.

  • Remove the document(s) from the “Evidence of Ownership and Supporting Documents” page.
  • Re save the Evidence of Ownership and re-upload the Documents.  Return to the Title Preview.
  • Calculate fees and resubmit the Title application to County to review.

With this past weekend’s outage, TxDMV RTS POS batch reporting was run during the outage window at different times than typically scheduled, which has impacted how counties and main offices generate their reports for Friday, 02/26/2021.

To generate RTS POS county and main office reports for Friday, 02/26/2021:

Reports à Reprint Reports Click Batch à Click Substation Summary Batch à Use the date of 02/28/2021 à Click Enter

For the Title Package Report, please run it on-demand manually.

For the Inventory Action Report, please run it on-demand manually.

2021 Calendar and Application Manager Dates

Attached are two files providing both a calendar and a table listing format of the Gregorian and Application Manager (AM) dates for calendar year 2021.

The AM date is part of the transaction identification number that prints on receipts and certain reports.  This information is helpful when reviewing reports that list transactions only by their AM dates and not Gregorian dates.  The following example denotes the position of the AM date:

Transaction number: 01534944225163051

The underlined and bolded five-digit number is the AM date.  It occupies the position of digits 7 through 11 in a transaction number.  The number can be found on the Gregorian calendar under the day of the particular month.  For example, the number 44225 is listed under “January” and under “31.”  Therefore, the Gregorian date for this transaction would be January 31, 2021.
