Adopted 43 TAC §57.18 and Withdrawn §§57.48-57.52

The Automobile Burglary and Theft Prevention Authority (ABTPA) has published in the Texas Register adopted changes to the Texas Administrative Code, which affect §57.18. The remaining rules included in the proposal, §§57.48-57.52, were automatically withdrawn in accordance with §2001.027, Texas Government Code. Due to errors in the publication, ABTPA published a Correction of Error in the July 6, 2018 issue of the Texas Register.

The adopted language is attached and it is also available on the Office of the Secretary of State’s website at http://www.sos.state.tx.us/texreg/pdf/currview/index.shtml.

Proposed 43 TAC §217.27 – Extension of Comment Period

Please find the attached Extension of Comment Period for 43 TAC §217.27, which was published in the In Addition section of the Texas Register on Friday, June 29, 2018.  The comment period for the proposed changes to §217.27 has been extended for an additional 30 days with comments accepted through 5:00 p.m. on July 30, 2018. The proposed language is attached and it is also available on the Office of the Secretary of State’s website at http://www.sos.state.tx.us/texreg/sos/index.html.

For your convenience, attached is a copy of the published proposed amendments to §217.27, which were published in the Texas Register on May 4, 2018 and is available at http://www.sos.texas.gov/texreg/archive/May42018/index.html.

An issue has been identified at the State Data Center which is affecting multiple state agencies. Due to this issue, all TXDMV Information systems are currently unavailable. State Data Center support staff are working to resolve the issue. An update will be sent by noon Central Time (06/21/2018) or as more information becomes available from the State Data Center.

• webDEALER
• eTAG

As a reminder, if you are unable to print buyer’s tags, you should use your pre-printed Internet Down buyer’s tags.   As you know, every dealer is now allowed a minimum of 30 Internet Down tags.  If you have less than 30 printed, print your full allocation now so you are prepared when the eTags system is unavailable.  Please remember that after using an Internet Down tag, you must enter the information for that tag into eTags as soon as the system is accessible.  Doing this, will ensure you always have the full allocation of unused Internet Down tags available when you need them. Also remember that unused Internet Down tags are valid for one year from the date they are printed.
