TxDMV publishes 5 rule proposals in the August 30, 2019, issue of the Texas Register

The Texas Department of Motor Vehicles (TxDMV) has proposed rules to 43 TAC Ch. 217 in the August 30, 2019, issue of the Texas Register. The proposed language is available on TxDMV’s website at https://www.txdmv.gov/general-counsel/proposed-and-adopted-rules.

These proposals are posted for public comment until 5:00 p.m. on September 30, 2019. Please submit separate comments for each proposal.

 

The proposals address:

             

              (1) amendments to §217.2 and §217.45 concerning specialty license plates, symbols, tabs, and other devices; and §217.46 concerning commercial vehicle registration;

 

              (2) new §217.15 to establish a process for the TxDMV to issue a title to a government agency for a travel trailer used by the government agency to provide temporary housing in response to a natural disaster or other declared emergency;

 

              (3) new §217.16 concerning an application for title when dealer goes out of business, and amendments to §217.40 concerning special registrations;

 

              (4) amendments to §217.27, concerning extended registration of a trailer, semitrailer, or pole trailer; and

 

              (5) amendments to §217.41 concerning the location at which an application for a disabled parking placard may be made.
