Initial Notification: Cognos Reports delayed (2/17/2020 @ 9:00 AM)

Good afternoon,

Additional reports were blank for counties on the attached list.  Impacted counties will have to manually run the following reports if they have not already done so.

• Title Package Report
• Inventory Action Report
• Substation Summary Report (The date entered must be 2/13/2020)
• Countywide Report (Substation Summary Reports must be run first and then the main office must run the Countywide Report)

We are currently running the batch processes that failed to run the evening of February 13.  Please do not remit any funds in RTS today.  The remittance may be completed starting Monday, February 17.

We apologize for the inconvenience this has caused and are working to resume normal operations.  If you have any questions or need assistance, please contact 1-877-933-2020.

Update: Attached list of Counties Affected by Friday’s RTS outage

Good afternoon,

Registration and Title System (RTS) maintenance conducted the evening of February 13 prevented batch processes from running normally and resulted in RTS being unavailable until today at 11:00 a.m.  As a result, the following reports were blank and will not be available until Monday, February 17.

• Week/Month-To-Date Fees Report
• Funds Remittance Report
• Fee Type Funds Report
• NMVTIS Inquiry Error Report
• VTR Funds Adjustment Report

County Reports Affected by Friday’s RTS outage

The RTS system was available as of 11:00 AM this morning, 2/14/2020.  Our research found that the cause of the outage was due to a DCS server issue.

Good afternoon,

The maintenance over the weekend of February 8 disrupted the batch processes that generates the Cognos reports. To provide updated reports for the week, we will initiate the batch process this evening at 5:00 PM and they will continue to run during business hours tomorrow until approximately 7:00 AM Wednesday.  There is potential for RTS and webDEALER performance to be slowed.  We will be monitoring system performance and will terminate the batch process if performance is degraded to the extend to severely impact services.  If you start to experience performance issues with RTS or webDEALER, please email us immediately at ITSupport@txdmv.gov. We apologize for the inconvenience and will provide updates as we work to restore the availability of Cognos reports.

Over the weekend of January 31, 2020, the Texas Department of Motor Vehicles (TxDMV) updated the Registration and Title System (RTS) with Release 9.5.1 that contains the content summarized below. 

Enhancements:

• The U.S. Paratrooper Special plate
• The NMVTIS Inquiry Error report change
• Farm Trailer plates
• Houston Rockets and Dallas Mavericks specialty plates no longer available

Defects Resolved:

• Specialty plate fee for expired 10-year MyPlates plate now calculates correctly
• Barcode page for specialty plates scanning properly
• Dealer’s GDN now validates against eLicensing
• Specialty plate fee for 10-year MyPlates plate double charge is fixed
• Odometer reading no longer defaults to EXEMPT
• Corrected Title Rejection on an Off-Highway Use Only Vehicle
• Corrected Title on an Off-Highway Use Only Vehicle
