Good evening,

The Texas Department of Motor Vehicles has received reports that the eTAG system is currently experiencing issues printing tags. Support staff are working to identify and resolve the issue. An update will sent by 8:00 PM CDT this evening (03/03/2018).

The statewide ticket for this issue is: 167873

Please remember that after using an Internet Down tag, you must enter the information for that tag into eTAG as soon as the system is accessible. Doing this will ensure you always have the full allocation of unused Internet Down tags available when you need them. Also remember that unused Internet Down tags are valid for one year from the date they are printed.

Initial Notification: Scheduled Maintenance (02/22/2018 @ 11:00 PM CDT)

On Thursday, February 22, 2018, the Texas Department of Motor Vehicles (TxDMV) will be performing system maintenance on the eLicensing system. The duration of the maintenance is scheduled for up to 30 minutes beginning at 11:00 PM and lasting until 11:30 PM CDT. There should not be an outage and end-users will not be impacted.  Please contact the TxDMV Service Desk if you experience any issues during the maintenance window.

Evidence Testing Grant Program and Ending Homelessness Donations

The 85th Texas Legislature passed House Bill 4102 that added Sections 502.414 and 502.415 to the Texas Transportation Code. The new sections introduce two new voluntary donations, the Evidence Testing Grant Program 502.414 and the Ending Homelessness Fund 504.415.

Customers now have the opportunity to donate to these funds when renewing their registration in person at the county, at participating subcontractor locations, by mail, or online through the Internet Vehicle Title and Registration Service.  The Motor Vehicle Registration Renewal Notice (Form VTR-39-A) has been revised to include the logo and website for the Ending Homelessness Fund as well as a placeholder for the Evidence Testing Grant Program.

Donations made to the Evidence Testing Grant Program will go toward testing evidence collected in relation to a sexual assault or other sex offense. It is estimated there are thousands of unexamined rape kits that have not been tested statewide primarily due to lack of funding. We have received reports of confusion regarding the name of this contribution. Customers wanting to make a donation to the Evidence Testing Grant Program may also refer to it as sexual assault or rape kit testing. Please clarify this with front line personnel.

Donations made to the Ending Homelessness Fund are used to provide grants to local government in an effort to fight homelessness.

Initial Noification: Scheduled Maintenance: (02/18/2018 @ 7:00 AM CDT)

On Sunday, February 18, 2018, the Texas Department of Motor Vehicles (TxDMV) will be performing maintenance on the eLicensing system. The duration of the maintenance is scheduled for up to three (3) hours beginning at 7:00 AM and lasting until 10:00 AM CDT.  There should not be an outage and end-users will not be impacted.  Please contact the TxDMV Service Desk if you experience any issues during the maintenance window.

 

Note: A reply to all will be sent when the maintenance is complete. Please contact the Service Desk if you experience system issues after the end of the maintenance.
